Skillcast Author enables us to produce alternative language versions of modules in a highly efficient manner. All of the text content from a module can be exported to and imported from MS Excel or XML files meaning translators do not need to work in the Skillcast environment and can make use of their translation support software.

Multi-language modules can be published as separate content objects (SCOs) for use in sophisticated Learning Management Systems, such as Skillcast Portal, or as a single content object in which the learner can select their preferred language. In either case, the tracking data stored during learning sessions is transferable between the different language versions, meaning learners can change language without losing their progress data.

Skillcast Portal is an ideal platform for delivering multilingual programmes. All of the text content seen by learners (button labels, categories, course names and descriptions, etc) can be translated into any language. When learner accounts are created they will be given a default language preference based on the person's geographical location. Users can then change their preferred language at any time using a select box on the Skillcast Portal interface.

As well as seeing all interface text and learning content in their preferred language, learners will also receive automated and ad-hoc email communications in that language (e.g. invitation and reminder emails for mandatory training programmes).
